Still, still, still preggo.

Midwife appointment today, Baby has dropped and I feel like there is no more room in my body for both of us. I let her feel me up, cervix is smooshy but not at all dilated. Lots of little contractions, hormones are making me really PMSy and I am really impatient to meet my baby. Taking this last little bit of pregnancy time to really spoil myself in the name of preparing for labor, especially since I really seem to need it, I am sleepy and so fricken hungry lately. But I was secretly really hoping to hear that my cervix was ready to go and I shouldn't sneeze or anything because the baby would fall out. Totally unrealistic, but a girl can hope.

Today I was bad and got an overpriced Carmel macchiato on the way home, also managed to get to the feedstore, partially because I was a little low on a few things and I didn't want to have to stop on the way home from the hospital or something silly like that. Also it is better if Joe doesn't know exactly how much a bag of good feed costs.

Ponehs are in the awkward stage of spring, nasty shedding. They annoy me when they shun their perfectly good hay in favor of tiny grass sprouts, We divided the paddock and put them in the back so they won't kill all the grass before it has a chance to sprout. Little and Poppy are putting on weight, Joy is ridiculously out of shape but it in fact the cutest horse ever so it is okay.

See, cutest snoot ever.

pretty spring

Wow, my cat stinks and the litter box isn't even in this room. I guess I will stop messing around with changing her food and keep her on Taste of the Wild dry and Evo wet, I was trying Wellness wet and Innova dry and she is just astinkin. She was on Science Diet when we got her from the shelter and Joe threatened to take her back since she smelled sooooooo awful.

In blog news I changed the comment section so it should be easier to leave comments, if it still sucks let me know and I will switch the whole shebang over, maybe to wordpress.

chickens are trying to come inside
Free range :)

And suddenly Sadie
gonna do chores since it preferable to beating teenage boys for making stupid noises in the other room.

Rain go away!

I have an issue with the fact it is raining, in the end of December. Does that seem right to you?

Especially since we had some snow and cold weather which makes the footing terrible, so no riding for me. Without having an indoor arena I usually trail ride during the winter and with the footing so craptastic I am not willing to go out and risk Joy falling with me. She is very surefooted but even a careful horse can go down on ice and I'm wary of that.

I have lots of things I need to do but embarrassingly enough I only find it easy to do something if it directly relates to baby. Trimming bunnies is hard and I can put that off but hand sewing big quilt squares into a baby blanket is easy, I can do that all night. So I have to make myself do things like vacuum when what I want is to stay in my little dreamy world.

I am also really good at eating and sleeping. Sometimes I get all guilty feeling like I am inadequately feeding the baby or something, but then I have to feel okay about because I am actually eating and it's usually decent stuff. Maybe if we had a live in chef it would be perfectly balanced, organic meals instead of a can of soup, but I could be doing worse. I feel huge but according to people who have seen pregnant people before I am not that big.

In other news we go 12 eggs so far today! Well done ladies. Wondering if it has to do with the fact I didn't let them out until noon, hopefully they haven't been trying to save babies by laying them in random places in the barn. But it is good news since I want to make a Pavlova for tomorrow and Joe wanted me to make deviled eggs. So having a surplus of eggs is nice. I need to decide on the rest of the menu for tomorrow, Joe is not being any help and feeding people is hard.

Exciting update, or not.

Last week was busy, But overall good.

I got my ultrasound done, Joe got to come with, everything looks good and it was completely amazing to see my baby.
Hi Baby
we also got our first egg! and we are now getting one or two a day, yesterday I made breakfast with eggs from our chickens, it tasted great!
Yes, it is green.
we got our house back, don't have a picture for it but imagine a cleaner house with a really smiley Me. Everyone is much more relaxed, including the critters, and we spent a lot of time this weekend tidying up and making things feel like home again.

I'm feeling much more excited about cooking, actually made cookies on Saturday and I have a yen to make lemon poppyseed muffins, must be the rainy day. I have been more hungry lately and trying hard to eat sufficient amounts of good food, which is harder then it sounds since I have several food allergies (wheat, dairy) and tend to forget to eat regularly. Totally craving sugar lately but that seems to be assuaged by large amounts of fruit.

Poor Sadie is freaking out over the thunder that has decided to accompany the rain, good thing I got my outdoor chores done earlier today. Ponehs are going to be covered in mud again, I guess it is the season. Not feeling motivated today, but rather sleepy and lazy. I do need to go to the grocery store and library though, I suppose I have had enough slacking off.
