fencing, baby and me.

Ponehs have been staying in mostly, I got the section of fence repaired and thought all was well until I tried letting them into the second paddock this morning (slightly drier in there, freakin mud!) and Little Horse and Joy were both out within minutes. So Joe gets to help me figure out the fence this weekend, I give up, they can stay in the front paddock and I will search for somewhat less muddy places to put down hay.

Joy is being a spaz spaz spaz, spooking at invisble monsters and overreacting to e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g. She got into grain during her Grand Wander About on Tuesday, I am not sure what it is about grain that turns into a monster but it is like having two different horses, total Jekyll and Hyde, one is high strung, over reactive, unfocused and quite frankly dangerous. The other is smart, notices everything, quick on her feet and fun. One vet I talked to thought she might be prone to ulcers and the grain irritated her stomach, especially since she has a similar reaction on antibiotics but no way of knowing  for sure without scoping her. Easiest right now to just to keep her on a high forage, low starch diet and avoid the crazies.

It has been kind of a baby-centric week, Monday was Tour the Birth Center Day, since Joe had to work (boo) my dear friend Melissa accompanied me. It turned out to be quite funny, we got lost trying to figure out where we were supposed to get in the stupid building, got sent to the 9th floor then got sent back to the 2nd, found the auditorium and giggled in the back through the powerpoint presentation, toured the Midwife Ghetto (honestly, it's totally set apart from the mainstream birth area, I guess so the nasty natural birthers don't upset the general population.) But the Ghetto is nice, lots of tubs to labor in which sounds wonderful as I adore baths. Then we went and ate yummy Thai food, baby likes Thai food, and strangely enough mushrooms.

Yesterday was my appointment with my Midwife, she is super cool. I ask "are you sure the baby is not freakishly large" and she assures me he is normal size, I go "but you'd tell me if he was freakishly large, right?" and she reassures me that she would tell me and says something nice about my measurements being all good. Just the kind of person you want around when you are worrying about everything. I have gotten kind of huge in the belly area, and feel a lot like sleeping all the time, grocery shopping was a lot of work. Also stopped by the fabric store and scored some nice brightly coloured flannel to make baby blanket, diaper wipes and general baby cleaners, they will be awesome and so much better then the wimpy swaddling blankets you can buy. (thanks for the idea Mom!)

I need to go be "productive" since all I have done so far today is eat yummy food, visit with Melissa and feed critters. I guess by "productive" I mean watch TrueBlood and make baby blankets, whatevs, it works.

I thought I was done with the sleepies

soooooooooooooo tired today,  I have stuff to do I just want to sleep allllllll day.My friend came over today to poke the hedgie and brought me the most amazing Jolly Rancher Popsicles,  They are gone and I have exceeded my sugar intake for like the week.

Woke up this morning and took Sadie out,  got the exciting surprise of finding baby horse munching grass by the barn, she was all "hey, I found noms and more burrs, I iz kyooot" The other two were not fazed and still inside the fence hanging out. A deer took down a strand on the back fence that I had to fix, bleh.

So I had to cheer myself up by buying makeup samples off of Geek Chic Cosmetics, I tried to buy eyeshadow colours I actually will wear (browns and greens mostly) but am mostly hoping to find some new foundation that doesn't look weird or make me break out. Maybe I'll get all inspired and post a review, although I have yet to post a review on any of the horse stuff that I keep meaning to write about, so don't bet on it.

People are gone for the week and it so lovely and peaceful. I actually want to make something complicated for dinner (like Quiche and Scalloped Potatoes) and I have cleaned the house slightly. Amazing.

Looking at changing Baby and Poppy off of Triple Crown Growth and onto something different, soon as I stop buying hedgehogs and spending all my money on stuff for the beastie.  So doing the comparison thing, likely stick with Triple Crown as I have been happiest with their feeds, nice to feed something and see a difference! I might do TC Lite since I am a fan of feeding less grain but if I am getting Glanzen Complete for Joy maybe I should do smaller amounts of grain for those two and put them on that as well. I wish Joy didn't turn into a nutcase on grain and I could feed them all the same. I have no desire to keep experimenting, honestly if she was a bitch on oats then I figure she will be a bitch on anything.

I wish I had an indoor since the footing has been terrible but I am excepting the fact that Joy is going to be worked more lightly then I would like for the next couple months, I'm pregnant and won't take stupid risks, I also just don't have the energy and muscle strength to really push myself. I don't think she minds being a wooly yak pasture puff though. I'm so pleased Joe has volunteered to do baby duty at shows or lessons so that I can get her out to compete a little next summer.

I need to cut down on the number of Angora bunnies I have, I keep getting behind in the trimming/brushing schedule and loosing good fur. I plan on learning to spin this winter though and will hopefully get through my bags of stored rabbit fur.

Might have to breakout last year's Halloween costume since I just found out yesterday that we have been invited to a party this weekend. Last year I was a Green (Absinthe) Fairy and looked awesome, I got to wear it to my bestie's wedding. This year I am larger in the boob and tum area so will have to see how much I can loosen the corset.
we are so flippin cute.

Starting to feel the baby move, which is super super cool. I have my ultrasound November 11th,  will be awesome to see the little critter.

gonna go cook :)

All of my posts lately have been about bunnies!

They are still doing super, got some more cute pictures today. I am really enjoying having them, they are so sweet and cute.

Yesterday I meant to ride but I think I was a bit hung over because I felt like crap and didn't get anything done, for example I planned on...
Riding!
Cleaning pasture!
Tidying tack room!
Planting rose bushes!

And instead all I did was lie around, take a bath and ate too much buttered toast.

Today I am feeling fine so I really should get off the internet and do something, besides if I keep posting pictures of adorable baby bunnies everywhere I will use up all our broadband time and Joe will be cross. This morning I got the special treat of Baby horse being out first thing, she was running in huge circles on the neighbors lawn because she couldn't figure out how to get back in the fence and Joy was eating all the food. I don't know how she got out but I was not impressed. I walked all the fence line and am still not sure how she escaped but a strand was down in the back on the other paddock so that could have ground the line out.
Sadie makes a new friend.
